Articles and LINKS to Roy Kuhlman, Grove Press and Barney Rosset
These links are some of the most interesting I have come across on the internet -they are well worth a look. The interviews and articles I believe present the reader with a good, solid description of the publishing scene in the fifties and sixties -a story of the avant-guard coming to the forefront and of the defense of many liberties taken somewhat for granted today. For an in depth look at Grove Press several good books exist : Loren Glass' excellent book, "Counter-Culture Colophon" and Steven Brower 's and John Gall's "Grove at the Vanguard". Check out "Obscene" -an excellent film on Barney Rosset and Grove Press as well. A great article just recently appeared in "All American Volume 12 -A Book of Lessons" (and most of the photographs for that article I am proud to say were taken from this book collection.
